About Us

The Mama Clare is a voluntary community based organization run on Christian principles. It is registered under organization board of Kenya. The organization was founded in 2013 as a remedial response to orphans and windows by a group of concerned Christians. It opened its doors with five children. Later the organization moved from smaller house to bigger house to accommodate the growing number of orphans. Currently Mama Clare has over 20 children aged between a year to 25 years old.  Most of the orphans in Mama Clare care have moved through the ranks of nursery to primary, secondary education.   This initiative followed the realization that HIV/AIDS infected and affected widows and orphans were constantly rejected, stigmatized and discriminated against within their homes and even, the entire community hence presenting a great need for a framework of development and support. The need for care for the affected and infected prompted MCOW to develop a program to care for the poor widows called health. MCOW encourages income-generating projects by providing in house training and entrepreneurship skills to her members. MCOW has well-wishers vast in knowledge of finance, health; ministries the well-wishers train and encourage the orphans and widows by equipping them with needed knowledge.

Why Mama Clare Orphanage?

The project will be monitored at regular intervals through a “Project Advisory Committee (PAC)” constituted with the founder/executive director of the organization as convener/member secretary. Authorities from the Funding Agency, Local District Administration etc., will be nominated as members to the project advisory committee. This committee would meet periodically once in 3 months and advise on various aspects concerning implementation of project and review of the programs/activities undertaken. The Project Advisory Committee will also review the accounts and audited statements.
